Median pay award returns to 2019 trend of 2.5%

The median pay award across the economy has risen to 2.5% in the three months to the end of March, having dipped to 2.4% in February. This change to the median comes as the UK economy moves into a probable recession following the lockdown as a result of COVID-19, though a slowdown was already on the cards. Looking at April awards our analysis shows a glimmer of stability in pay with a further rise in the median.
