Due to the recently announced industrial action affecting train operating companies on 14 December 2022 we have had no choice but to cancel this event. It will be replaced with a free short online seminar.

The event will take place just before the turn of the year, and as such comes at an excellent time to take stock and discuss with other practitioners what might lay ahead on the pay and conditions front. We will present the latest research from IDR on the reward landscape, including the practical steps employers have been taking to address staff recruitment, retention and morale. Our speakers will present an overview of the state of the labour market, and examine what surprises the wider economy might have in store for pay-setters, including the vexed question of inflation. The morning should be particularly helpful for those with forthcoming negotiations over pay, as well as any organisations that have yet to finalise their reward decisions for 2023. We’ll look at the key issues facing all those with responsibility for pay and benefits in the year ahead.

Agenda:

  • Results of IDR poll of employers’ pay intentions for 2023 (currently in the field)
  • How employers have been using reward to address recruitment, retention and staff morale
  • The outlook for the economy, inflation and the labour market
  • Upward and downward pressures on pay
  • Key issues for reward practitioners in 2023

As well as hearing detailed talks from our Chief Editor, Ken Mulkearn, the morning seminar provides an opportunity for you to come together with other practitioners, discuss how the 2023 pay round might develop, and share practice and responses to the issues facing you and others with responsibility for reward. Learn how you can use reward to meet many of the current challenges around recruitment, retention and motivation.
