What will happen to pay in 2026? An online seminar, 29 January 2026

Inflation has risen again and the cost of essentials – from food to rents and mortgages – continues to put upward pressure on pay awards. At the same time, employers are facing higher costs, including changes to National Insurance and the impact of the Budget, which are bearing down on pay decisions as the labour market begins to soften.

Join Incomes Data Research (IDR) for a free seminar exploring the outlook for pay in 2026. Drawing on early findings from our latest pay poll, we’ll examine how major UK employers are approaching pay-setting, the key pressures shaping reward strategies, and what this means for hiring and workforce plans in the year ahead.

The session will be led by:

  • Ken Mulkearn, Director of Research and Editor-in-Chief – an experienced pay communicator who leads IDR’s research programme and employer network
  • Zoe Woolacott, Senior Researcher – responsible for IDR’s pay awards monitoring and analysis, with deep insight into current and emerging pay trends
