In this case study we look at how Ricoh UK, which specialises in providing and integrating end-to-end technology and solutions and services, managed the implementation of a smaller than originally planned pay increase budget for 2025. The study describes how employees in different pay quartiles were affected, how the revised budget influenced Ricoh UK’s efforts to reduce its gender pay gap, and how the problems were ultimately solved. IDR spoke to Toni Smith, Ricoh UK’s Reward and Insights Manager, who explained the various strategies and initiatives put in place to help deal with the reduced budget, and how these affected the ways in which Ricoh UK is working to narrow its gender pay gap.
