The labour market looks to have weakened across most of the main indicators contained in the latest release from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). The number of employees on payrolls - taken from HMRC data - is down, while the estimate of employment taken from the Labour Force Survey (LFS) has remained the same. Unemployment is up on the quarter, while inactivity and the number of vacancies have both fallen.
